Designed in 1952, the Nelson™ Bubble Lamps® by Herman Miller® played an important role in defining mid-century modern design, and are so iconic that they are part of the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York. Made with a spray-coated plastic originally made for the military, the Nelson Cigar Bubble Pendant features a bead-shaped steel frame that is slightly visible through the shade. The shape is trimmed with Brushed Nickel, and creates perfectly diffused light through its uniquely crafted material.

This legendary collaboration would establish Herman Miller as the premier manufacturer of home and office furniture for the modern American landscape. Today, the company continues to focus on lighting and furnishings with excellent form and function.
