FLOS Lighting
The FLOS StoryBrothers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and Tobia Scarpa began the FLOS venture in 1962 in Merano, northern Italy, creating contemporary lighting fixtures with artistic verve. Experimenting in new techniques, they made design history with their unique cocoon-like fixtures created by spraying resin over a steel structure. The FLOS partnership soon acquired the talents of Sergio Gandini, who moved the company to Brescia in 1964. The first FLOS lighting store opened in Milan just four years later. FLOS acquired Arteluce in 1974 and is currently run by Sergio's son. Why We Love FLOS LightingFLOS offers a structurally creative alternative to the every day suspension.
