Minka Lavery
The Minka-Lavery StoryMinka-Lavery was established in 1982 by Bill and Marian Tang as the decorative lighting division of the Minka Group, based out of Corona, CA. The duo's tactic in giving Minka-Lavery light fixtures their sense of luxury was to take inspiration from past design styles whenever possible and re-introduce them in new forms. Today, the Minka-Lavery line has grown to include everything from petite European-styled crystal chandeliers to contemporary bathroom lighting, highly decorative wall sconces and a variety of outdoor light fixtures. Even the most contemporary of these fixtures have a subtle sense of history included in them. Why We Love Minka-Lavery LightingThe designs of Minka-Lavery lighting fixtures are inspired by romance and history, and it is clearly evident in the assortment of indoor and outdoor lighting available. There's the Nanti collection of ceiling lights and wall lights, designed to offer a warm opulence with traditional lighting motifs. And the Tofino collection takes a looping approach to familiar European sconce and pendant designs. Even Minka-Lavery's transitional fixtures are enhanced by decorative elements of classic design styles. In addition to evoking design styles of the past, Minka-Lavery lighting replicates traditional quality and craftsmanship with a variety of hand-painted finishes, embroidered shades, etc. With a variety of interior light fixtures and UL listed lighting that can be safely used in outdoor locations, there's a home for Minka lighting just about anywhere in yours. How to Choose the Best Minka-Lavery FixturesBecause this assortment can easily fit into interior and exterior styles ranging from traditional to contemporary, you'll find there is a Minka fixture for almost any room of the home. Entryways and foyers benefit from a Minka-Lavery chandelier where the fixture's true personality can be captured and put on display. Likewise, the dining room benefits from a Minka-Lavery pendant or linear suspension. Wall sconces are the go-to choice to achieve layered lighting whether indoors or out and you'll also find well-designed vanity light bars to introduce to your bathroom. Remember to measure anywhere you plan to install a light fixture and review its height, width, depth and hanging length (for chandeliers, pendants and other suspension lights). Minka-Lavery also sets a certain tone with its hardware finishes, colors and patterns, making it easy to incorporate a highly decorative piece into your lighting design for any room. A Fun Fact About Minka-LaveryMinka-Lavery is a firm supporter of Habitat for Humanity, donating fixtures for projects as well as the monetary proceeds from sales.
